Hastinapur, December 6, 2024: The sacred town of Hastinapur echoed with spiritual chants, devotion,
and divine fervour as the Panchkalyanak Mahotsav, organized by the Shri Shantinath-Akampan-Kahan
Digambar Jain Trust, concluded on a deeply soul-stirring note. Held from December 1 to 6, the Mahotsav
drew thousands of Jain devotees from across India and other foreign countries, transforming
Teerthdham Chidayatan into a radiant centre of spiritual energy and sacred celebration.
The Mahotsav marked the Pratishtha of 1008 Bhagwan Shri Shantinath-Kunthunath-Arnath installed
amidst celestial rituals at the sanctified Teerthdham Chidayatan, a spiritually charged 16-acre complex
that now stands as a beacon of Jain faith. This sacred site is home to five magnificent Jain idols, a divine
mandir dedicated to all 24 Tirthankars, a well-stocked library of Jain Scriptures and interfaith scriptures,
and a residency complex for pilgrims, offering both serenity and enlightenment.
At the heart of the celebration were the re-enactments of the Panchkalyanak — the five defining
moments in the life of a Tirthankar: Garbh (conception), Janm (birth), Tapa (renunciation), Kevalgyan
(omniscience), and Moksha (liberation). These events were brought to life through awe-inspiring rituals,
sacred hymns, and visually grand theatrical presentations, immersing devotees in an atmosphere of
deep spiritual reflection and joy.
A soul-elevating performance of ‘Mukti Sopanam’ depicted the Soul’s journey towards liberation,
leaving the audience spellbound. In a vibrant nod to the spiritual and cultural roots of Hastinapur, a
Mahabharat-themed performance further enriched the spiritual narrative of the Mahotsav. Several
dignitaries and spiritual luminaries graced the event, performing rituals and offering discourses that
illuminated the timeless wisdom of Jain dharma — ahimsa, aparigraha, satya, and samyak darshan etc.
An especially heartening sight was the enthusiastic participation of students from Jain schools across the
nation, who came together to offer devotion through cultural expressions, symbolizing the blossoming
of spiritual values in the younger generation.
As the Mahotsav concluded, organizers expressed profound gratitude to all volunteers, devotees, and
scholars, calling it a historic and divine milestone in the spiritual journey of the Jain community. With its
spiritual vibrations, grand rituals, and timeless teachings, the Panchkalyanak Mahotsav at Teerthdham
Chidayatan has truly reaffirmed Hastinapur’s place as a sacred gateway to liberation — a Mukti Dwar for
seekers of eternal truth.
